Background
From its HQ in the countryside of Morocco, Beni Rugs connects 3,500 years of tradition with the pulse of today. The Beni Workshop is an 8,000-square-foot hub of craft—where weavers work next to a sun-flooded courtyard, the thump of hammers against wool fills the air, and the team explores new possibilities of an age-old art. It’s the purest expression of who they are.
Signature Style
Beni Rugs exists at the intersection of heritage craft and contemporary design, believing in the power of unexpected partnerships and new conversations to breathe life into ancient traditions. Beni Rugs creates handwoven, made-to-order rugs in its fair trade-certified Workshop at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Each rug is slightly different from the last, reflecting the hand of the weaver and symbolizing true luxury in an age of mass-produced products.
Showstoppers
Viewing the rugs as blank canvases ripe for interpretation by creative talents across different spheres, one of the favorite collections is Broken Symmetry, created in partnership with design trailblazer Athena Calderone. It features a muted palette of sun-faded hues and graphic elements reminiscent of the work of painter Agnes Martin and architect Luis Barragán.
