Laura Demichelis has been a master bronze artisan since 2010, graduating from the École Boulle in Paris. After several years working in the workshops of renowned designers in Paris and Berlin, she embarked on a journey through Asia to explore local bronze casting techniques, particularly in Vietnam. Enriched by these inspiring experiences, she established her workshop in Toulouse, where she designs and crafts exceptional art furniture and lighting, driven by a quest for beauty and timelessness. Her work revolves around three core elements: the interplay of light, the texture of materials, and the repetition of motifs. Her artistic language balances between the refinement of craftsmanship and the poetic essence of forms, guided by her expertise and a profound sensitivity to the living world.
Invisible Collection and Mobilier National partner to promote contemporary creation and present limited-edition designs. Mobilier National, a major institution for contemporary creation and the promotion of French decorative arts, has been dedicated since the seventeenth century to preserving, restoring, and managing unique state-owned collections of furniture, tapestries, and decorative objects. In recent years, Mobilier National has broadened its scope by launching an annual “Campagne d’Acquisition” to support creativity and integrate contemporary designs into the national collections. These works are then exhibited in prestigious institutional buildings.
Thanks to this unprecedented partnership, a curated selection of contemporary furniture from Mobilier National’s latest Campagne d’Acquisition is now available in a limited edition.
The Rhino table draws inspiration from Albrecht Dürer’s engraving Rhinoceros, combined with a poetic reinterpretation of the natural world. This serves as the starting point for the texture featured on this side table. Hand-carved and reproduced in bronze using sand casting, the textured “carapace” or metal armor is delicately framed by a brass rim with golden reflections. The tabletop offers a soft, tactile surface, wrapped in matte leather that invites touch. This table was crafted in Toulouse by the artisan, reflecting a constant pursuit of harmonious design that balances the object’s form, material enhancement, and daily functionality.
