Background
Marie Victoire de Bascher is a multi-hyphenate creator whose work brings storytelling to life through objects and illustrations across a wide-ranging, enchanting portfolio. In 2019, she founded her eponymous studio in the Marais, where she develops projects spanning fashion, drawing, craftsmanship, and interior design. Her creative universe is as eclectic as it is captivating —ranging from eyewear for Jacquemus and Pucci by Camille Miceli, to fashion jewelry for Lemaire. Extending far beyond adornment, she conjures snake-shaped benches, erotic wall lights, celestial ceilings painted with poisonous flora, and dreamlike listening rooms. Her astral plates for Diptyque and Provençal fabrics with sativa motifs for Les Olivades further showcase her ability to weave narrative into textiles, décor, and experiential spaces. With precision and insatiable curiosity, de Bascher transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, inviting playfulness, warmth, and a touch of the unexpected into everyday life.
Signature Style
Driven by a passion for the highest levels of craftsmanship and materiality, Marie Victoire de Bascher naturally gravitated toward interior architecture and the decorative arts. From her Provençal fabrics to her Drakkar Benches, simple structures held aloft by archaic chimeras, and her celestial ceilings covered in poisonous plants, she brings to life a fantastical world of wild beasts and surreal wonders. Her playful creations weave effortlessly into daily life, spreading humor, joy, and beauty throughout our interiors.
Showstoppers
The Eden Regularis Collection began as a monumental décor: a modular ceiling framed with extravagant moldings, unfolding in a semi-undulating pattern of strange, dreamlike flowers — blurring the line between poisonous plants and a tribute to Jean Lurçat. Today, the ceiling’s distinctive motifs find new expression in a series of ottomans, upholstered in the same floral design, reinterpreted through the unique digital tapestry technique developed by Ateliers Néolice.
