Background
Objekti is the brainchild of Miriam Frowein and Benjamin Frowein, siblings-in-law with a shared passion for beauty and elegance. Miriam is the principle of Miriam Frowein Interiors, a London-based studio focusing on international, high-end residential projects. Benjamin is the President of American design brand Schumacher. During a trip to Mexico, they discovered the ancient tradition of ceramic art and pottery crafts dating back to the Pre-Columbian period. They fell in love with the pines – unique pieces that symbolize goodwill in Mexico – and decided to launch Objekti.
Signature style
Pine-shaped vessels and decorative objects hand-made by some of Mexico’s most celebrated artisans. Each piece is a work of art that may take weeks to make. These unique high-end accessories are created out of local clay and require exceptional mastery of clay sculpting. The perfection of the texture, the brilliance of the glazing, and the amazing shades of colour lend each piece a truly artistic, one-of-a-kind quality.
Showstoppers
The Green Sproutz and the Azure Porcupine are a feat of creativity and painstaking attention to detail. The hundreds of sprouts on the former and the over 500 spikes on the latter are made by hand and applied one-by-one. The process might take up to a month. The Rose Spice is another example of Objekti’s mastery of colour and delicate design, featuring 100 rose buds made by hand.
