Background
After spending ten years at the helm of the design department of Koch & Lowy in New York – established manufacturers of lighting and furniture – Piotr Sierakowski turned his back to mass production in order to focus on one-of-a-kind designs. A graduate from the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre in Brussels, he currently works exclusively on made-to-measure, handmade designs, much sought-after by keen collectors who see him as a ‘Furniture Artist’.
Signature Style
His strong, highly graphic designs, layered with intricate marquetry panels. The motifs tap into a revisited Op-Art style, created by extremely ingenious patterns made of a combination of precious multicolored woods. Each piece is like a precious artwork.
He loves
Combining fine woods – sycamore, ebony, and amaranth – used in a patchwork of patterns recreating striking trompe-l’oeil. The rigorous lines of his furniture that play a catchy contrast with the graphic aesthetic of the surfaces. The cabinet doors open like beetle wings revealing beautifully refined, colorfully lacquered interiors.
Showstoppers
The stunning motifs and geometric patterns, which bring a unique sense of movement to his wood marquetry: a skillful nod to the growing trend of print and patterns that has taken the world of interiors by storm in the last few years.
The Invisible Collection has the pleasure of presenting a selection of one-of-a-kind designs by Piotr Sierakowski, available for purchase exclusively through us.
