A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels La Cambre in Brussels and after ten years as the head of the design department at Koch Lowyin New York, Piotr Sierakowski decided to turn his back on industrial production in order to concentrate on unique pieces, towards the ultimate in made-to-measure. He is now seen as a ‘Furniture Artist’ with a strong, highly graphic style specialised in marquetry-faced furniture. His elaborate creations are truly precious pieces. He loves combining fine woods used in a patchwork of patterns recreating relief through trompe l’œil. The rigorous line of the silhouettes of his furniture which play with the contrast of the surfaces. Doors open like beetle wings revealing beautifully refined, coloured laquer interiors.
