Invisible New York

Stories Destinations Invisible New York

Discover The Townhouse, our new home in New York City.

With its extraordinary history, eclectic cultural mix and outstanding architecture, New York  holds a special place in our heart. When we launched The Invisible Collection, our first meetings took place in this vibrant city: We knew right there and then that we were going to set roots here and build a home for The Invisible Collection.
That dream came true: We are delighted to announce the opening of The Townhouse, our new home on the Upper East Side of New York City. Located on 24 East 64th Street, the space will house a selection of exceptional furniture and collectible pieces from our roster of contemporary design stars while also acting as a cultural hub for design aficionados and art collectors.
Designed in partnership with uber-talented Olivier Garcé & Clio Dimofski, the 1,752-square-foot space is defined by simple geometries and natural materials that complement the unique furniture pieces and objects on show. On the first floor, the Grand Salon is where we will present the solo shows of our favorite world-renowned designers; whilst the adjacent room overlooking the garden will welcome a rotating selection of our iconic pieces. The ground floor will feature an expansive library – created in collaboration with 7L- that will be a hub for like-minded design lovers to experience intimate discussions with industry leaders.
For the opening, we asked design duo Garcé & Dimofski to exhibit a selection of their signature pieces – available exclusively trhough us – paired with exquisite objects and artworks. We called it “La maison du collectionneur,” a place inspired by our idea of what a collector’s home looks like, where the overall feel and aesthetic mirror our ethos and eclectic vision of a design-forward lifestyle.
The furniture pieces are set in dialogue with outstanding artworks specially selected for the opening. The delicate, abstract works by Joe Henry Baker – including a one-of-a-kind folding screen made with the alla mano technique – are counterbalanced by the striking, figurative paintings by Pedro Bastista and sculptures by Se Yoon Park. On the first floor a gorgeous custom niche features an entrancing work by Lison de Caunes, the grand dame of straw marquetry.
Alongside our star designers, we invited an array  of specialty creators from Chanel’s Maisons d’Art such as Lesage Intérieurs, Studio MTX, Goossens, and Lemarié to aid in showcasing the French savoir-faire & superior craftsmanship. This collaboration will shine a light on Chanel’s specialists – long-established craft maisons whose métiers span the most exquisite crafts in haute couture.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce a special collaboration –  the first of its kind- with famed Librairie 7L. Founded by Karl Lagerfeld in 1999, and acquired by Chanel in March 2021, the 7L Parisian bookshop has been invited to introduce the 7L book curation service at The Townhouse: a custom, tailored book selection for clients’ homes based on their topics of interest. Housed on the ground floor and displayed on custom bookshelves in wood and ceramic designed by Garcé & Dimofski, a specially curated  book collection by the 7L team is now on show.
The Townhouse will be open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm. We look forward to welcoming you to our new home in New York!
