The Townhouse: Our New Home in New York

Stories News The Townhouse: Our New Home in New York

Discover The Invisible Collection’s new flagship location in the heart of Manhattan, inspired by the atmosphere of a collector’s home.

We are delighted to announce the opening of a permanent home on the Upper East Side of New York City. Located on 24 East 64th Street in a classic, debonair townhouse, the space will house a selection of exceptional furniture and collectible pieces from our roster of contemporary design stars while also acting as a cultural hub for design aficionados and art collectors.

“This is the opening we have been working on for the past 6 years. When we launched The Invisible Collection, our first client and press meetings took place in our co-founder Anna’s penthouse apartment looking above Central Park. A beautifully appointed space that was the perfect embodiment of the art de vivre The Invisible Collection represents and promotes. Having a true – comfortable and elegant – home for The Invisible Collection to host New Yorkers in an intimate way is the dream come true.” says our co-founder, Lily Froehlicher.

Designed in partnership with uber-talented Olivier Garcé & Clio Dimofski, the 1,752-square-foot space is defined by simple geometries and natural materials that complement the unique furniture pieces and objects on show. On the first floor, the Grand Salon is where we will present the solo shows of our favorite world-renowned designers; whilst the adjacent room overlooking the garden will welcome a rotating selection of our iconic pieces. The ground floor will feature an expansive library – created in collaboration with 7L- that will be a hub for like-minded collectors and design lovers to experience intimate discussions with industry leaders.

For the opening, we asked design duo Garcé & Dimofski to exhibit a selection of their signature pieces paired with exquisite objects and artworks. We called it “La maison du collectionneur,” a place inspired by our idea of what a collector’s home looks like, where the overall feel and aesthetic mirror our ethos and eclectic vision of a design-forward lifestyle.

In addition to our program of rotating exhibitions and cultural events, we invited a selection of specialty creators from the Chanel’s Maisons d’Art such as Lesage Interieurs, Studio MTX, Goossens, and Lemarié to aid in showcasing the French savoir-faire and revered superior craftsmanship. This collaboration will shine a light on Chanel’s specialists – long-established craft maisons whose métiers span the most exquisite crafts in haute couture – demonstrating their contemporary side.

Furthering our ongoing conversation with Chanel, we are delighted to present an exclusive collaboration with 7L, the famed bookstore created by the late Karl Lagerfeld and acquired by Chanel in 2021. Housed on the ground floor and displayed on custom bookshelves in wood and ceramic designed by Garcé & Dimofski, the book collection has been specially curated by the 7L team.

The Townhouse will welcome our clients to discover top designers and young talents into what feels like a beautiful, contemporary collector’s home, ranging from unique craftsmanship to NFTs,” says our Co-Founder Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays. “The Townhouse will serve as a place for creatives to be inspired by the softness of the atmosphere and exquisite furniture presented by the nicest team,” adds our Co-Founder Anna Zaoui.

The Townhouse will be open to the public from September 16th, Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm. We look forward to welcoming you to our new home in New York!
