At Garcé & Dimofski, design begins with material rather than form. Olivier Garcé and Clio Dimofski work almost exclusively with what the Mediterranean landscape and Portuguese artisans can offer: chestnut and walnut wood, hand-thrown ceramic, raw clay and terracotta, resulting in furniture with what the duo call a quiet strength that transcends trends — pieces built to feel inevitable rather than fashionable.
Gustave’s hexagonal seat sits on a gradient beige ceramic base that fades from one tone into another in a single firing, an effect the Portuguese kiln produces rather than a painted one, atop a wood structure. Pictured upholstered in Pierre Frey’s Arsène fabric in Pigeon, it has also been shown in a now-discontinued ecru Pierre Frey weave, and any fabric and dimension can be requested to order.
