New on ClubRoom, Le Château de Ma Mère is a gorgeous homeware collection that brightens the winter season with the warm, joyful hues of summer in the South of France. Enjoy!

As we approach the holiday season and we search for gift ideas as well as inspirations for the home, we had an immediate coup de coeur for Le Château de Ma Mère, a delightful homeware collection designed by Sophie Douzal Sarkozy and inspired by the distinctive aesthetic of French Provence. The brand embodies the cheerful and laid back Provençal art de vivre that the world envies. Inspired by 17th-century Provençal textile archives, Sophie Douzal composes a brand-new symphony of colors and motifs that echo the sound of cicadas. Her collection of linens and tableware, crafted with traditional techniques by the finest artisans, conjures the dreams of sunny summers, aromatic gardens, Mediterranean pines, rosemary, and never-ending aperitifs against the setting sun.  The color palette explores all the shades of lemon-yellow, lavender-blue and sage-green fused in delightfully romantic floral prints for cotton tablecloths and linens.

The tableware includes precious artifacts like the Pichavy candle holders, Malicorne plates and Bamboo cutlery along with hand-blown tumblers and glasses. For the living room, Sophie Douzal Sarkozy created decorative quilted pillows and cushions crafted from cashmere and an eye-catching dandelion print, bringing a sense of whimsy and femininity. Handwoven rattan baskets demonstrate the expert artisanship behind Le Château de Ma Mère and add a charming rustic feel reminiscent of the French countryside. Fun fact: “Le Château de ma Mère” is the title of a beloved autobiographical novel by celebrated French author Marcel Pagnol. This touching memoir follows a young boy’s nostalgic adventures during summer visits to a countryside castle in Provence, emphasizing friendship, love, and the beauty of the region. Pagnol’s vivid storytelling contributed to cementing the aura of dreamlife in Provence among many generations of readers, including Sophie Douzal Sarkozy.

The novel was adapted into a successful movie that further relayed the sense of sweet nostalgia for the region’s sundrenched landscapes and colourful, laid-back joie de vivre. We invited Le Château de ma Mère for an exclusive pop-up at our New York gallery, to celebrate the holiday season with the theme “A Provencal Christmas.” Our charming Townhouse on the upper east side has been transformed into a dreamy holiday getaway in the south of France with a curated selection of the brand’s home accents and decor. The pop-up is open to shop pieces from the collection, table linens and placements, tabletop decor, serveware, accessories and bed linens all in a sunny wardrobe to convey the sublime and idyllic lifestyle à la Provençale.
