The Floa Table by Alexandre Labruyère, is named after the English word “floating“, referring to the lightness of a levitating element: “As if in weightlessness, the form seeks to emancipate itself from its function to gain in lightness,” says Labruyère. The top appears to be floating above another surface thus creating an empty space between the two. The contrasting color treatment reinforces the impression of suspension that emanates from it, lending the piece a quality of extreme lightness. Balancing finesse and solidity, the Floa Table is entirely carved by hand. Each piece is made to order in bespoke dimensions. The materials – oak, ash, sycamore, and red oak – are carefully sourced from a responsibly run sawmill located in France.
