The Model 36 Desk by Severin Hansen was designed in 1958, when the Danish architect was only twenty-two, and remains a true icon of Danish Modern furniture. Crafted in solid oak with an oiled finish, it is instantly recognisable by its three-way mitred joints and tapering legs, with lockable drawers closed by solid brass keys. At its first exhibition, the young Princess Margrethe fell in love with the desk and her father, King Frederik, gave it to her as a gift, a story Dagmar now honours by relaunching the piece as part of the Margrethe Collection.
