Francesco Balzano designs the way an architect thinks: in volumes, thresholds and light. Named among AD France’s 100 Best Designers and winner of the Villa Medici Prize from the French Academy in Rome, the Paris-based designer draws on a childhood spent between Venice, Rome and Florence to give his furniture, produced through SATTIO Studio, the weight and calm of monuments rather than mere objects.

Set low to the ground, the Murano coffee table translates the formal vocabulary of Venetian glassmaking into a piece built for daily use, its opaque resin top and base worked to the matte, sandblasted texture of glass shaped and cooled by lagoon water. Signed and numbered in colourway FB20/04, its rounded, sculptural mass sits in a room like a smooth boulder pulled from the shallows of Murano itself.

The images showcased are high-quality 3D renderings designed to closely represent the piece, though they may not capture every detail with complete precision.
