Francesco Balzano brings a builder’s discipline to every object he designs. Raised between Venice, Rome and Florence, he channels the drama of Italian classical architecture through a distinctly French sense of restraint, a duality that has earned him a place among AD France’s 100 Best Designers and that now defines the sculptural, limited-edition furniture produced under his own label, SATTIO Studio.
Part of Tempio, a collection of five monoliths Balzano describes as his manifesto, this coffee table is carved from Grand Antique marble, its dark, dramatically veined surface built on memories that range from Casa Malaparte to the quarries of Stazzema. Also available in white onyx, it is one of only twelve signed and numbered pieces, brutalist in spirit yet handled with a purist’s restraint.
