Francesco Balzano brings a builder’s discipline to every object he designs. Raised between Venice, Rome and Florence, he channels the drama of Italian classical architecture through a distinctly French sense of restraint, a duality that has earned him a place among AD France’s 100 Best Designers and that now defines the sculptural, limited-edition furniture produced under his own label, SATTIO Studio.
The translucent Murano gueridon, signed and numbered in colourway FB20/04-E, turns a small side piece into a lantern-like object, its resin body catching and softening light the way water-worn glass does along the shore of the Venetian lagoon. Balzano keeps the silhouette pared back so the material, not the form, carries the piece’s quiet, luminous character.
