Garcé & Dimofski, founded by Olivier Garcé and Clio Dimofski in Lisbon, is both a design studio and a gallery devoted to a singular, material-driven language. Every piece channels their belief in a quiet strength that transcends trends: raw chestnut, hand-glazed ceramic and terracotta, worked by local Portuguese artisans into forms that feel both ancient and entirely new.

This unique floor lamp with Minjae Kim is built around hand-carved Douglas fir in a stained, lacquered finish and topped with a shade in quilted fibreglass rather than fabric, its stitched surface catching light in small, regular facets. As a one-off, its carving and shade will never be exactly reproduced, which is part of what makes it a gallery piece as much as a lamp.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
