Many of Jean-Michel Frank’s most refined pieces were designed with his close collaborator Adolphe Chanaux, the cabinetmaker who helped translate Frank’s spare vision into gouged oak, rattan and straw marquetry. Ecart International, founded by designer Andrée Putman to rescue such overlooked modernist masters, still re-edits their work from the original archives.

Co-designed with Adolphe Chanaux in 1925, this cupboard is built in gouged oak with oak interior shelves.
