Laclaux is the Paris studio of Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat, built on a single conviction: that ecological, artisanal design can be as refined as it is honest. Every piece leaves their workshop having passed through the hands of French cabinetmakers and weavers who favour raw, living materials over anything synthetic or overworked.
The Primavera Coffee Table 002 designed by Laclaux revisits the studio’s signature woven silhouette in a slightly bolder register, offered not only in raw natural rattan but also in a glossy lacquered rattan in deep Blue Black or rich Burgundy. Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat use these saturated finishes sparingly, letting the lacquer catch light across the same handwoven structure that defines the whole Primavera family.
Because every table is handmade, its shapes and shades vary slightly from one piece to the next — a variation Laclaux presents as character rather than inconsistency. Bespoke dimensions and finishes are available on request, so the table can shift from a pale, sun-bleached rattan tone to a near-black lacquer depending on the room it is destined for.
Laclaux embodies the vision, skills, and sensitivity of Chloé Nègre and François-Xavier Fonbonnat. Both alumni of the École Camondo, they built their careers on separate paths: François-Xavier working at some of France’s leading design agencies, while Chloé founded her eponymous studio. By merging their longstanding experience and sharing a deep passion for craftsmanship and responsible design, they create new collections of furniture pieces inspired by their distinctive perspectives, where creativity and environmental consciousness are the cornerstones. The collection opens its doors to the transmission of knowledge, craftsmanship, ecology, sharing, and transparency, with a mission to bring excellence to furniture making.
