For more than three hundred years, the Mobilier National has overseen the furnishing of France’s palaces, ministries and embassies, a role that has made it one of the most exacting arbiters of design excellence in the world. Its annual acquisition campaign is a rare honor: only a select group of contemporary designers see their work inducted into this living archive of French craftsmanship, standing permanently alongside pieces once created for kings, presidents and the state itself.

The Kimira Gueridon by Anasthasia Millot, now part of the Mobilier National’s permanent collection, carries the fluid discipline she first learned in the fashion world into the language of bronze. Its structure is composed of interlaced, belt-like bands of patinated bronze that seem to cinch the table into shape, topped by a leather tabletop stitched with the same precision as a couture garment, a rare instance of tailoring translated directly into furniture.

Her longstanding experience in the fashion world has informed Anasthasia Millot’s approach to design and her eye for fluidity and self-restraint, two qualities she injects into metalsmithing by creating elegant bronze pieces defined by clean lines. In 2010, she presented her first designs at PAD Paris, then, in 2017, she exhibited her work at Masterpiece London and then in New York.
