The Eden Regularis Ottomans, by Studio Robert Four x Marie-Victoire de Bascher, offer a poetic, contemporary tribute to the savoir-faire and tradition of tapestry.
For the ceiling of the Appartement aux Verdures, designed to complement Aubusson tapestries, Marie-Victoire de Bascher created patterns that blur the line between poisonous plants and a tribute to Jean Lurçat. In keeping with decorative arts tradition, the ceiling’s design is reflected in a collection of tapestry-upholstered Ottomans, titled Eden Regularis.
The first Ottoman serves multiple functions—as a footrest, extra seat, or grouped around a table in a living room setting. The Grand Ottoman, part coffee table, part oversized footrest, adds an artistic statement to any space.Â
A globetrotter at heart, Marie Victoire de Bascher is an artist at the intersection of fashion, design, drawing, and craftsmanship. In 2019, she founded her eponymous creative studio in Paris, where she creates a vibrant, colorful world inhabited by oneiric creatures and landscapes inspired by the imagined nature of a lost paradise. Working on multiple projects across the globe, she designs original pieces for Goossens and Lemaire, two specialty creators from Chanel’s les Maisons d’art pour la mode et la décoration, as well as for other international luxury brands.
