Nish Design, by South African designer Tanisha Neill, proves that minimalism and warmth are not mutually exclusive. Working from her Cape Town studio, Neill designs furniture that sits at the meeting point of architectural discipline and hand-finished craft, favouring honest materials — solid woods, natural stone, tactile leathers — over ornament, engineered to hold a room alone or blend into a considered composition.
The Gigi Bar Stool is quietly confident and always with an edge — modest in silhouette yet bold in its precise, tapered lines. Crafted here in naturally finished oak with a mild-steel footrest, the stool embodies Nish’s belief that everyday furniture deserves the same sculptural attention as a statement piece. Bespoke materials can be specified on request, allowing the Gigi to adapt from a casual kitchen counter to a refined bar setting without losing its understated character.
With a degree in Interior Design and a Masters in Product design acquired in Madrid followed by successful time working in the design & architecture industry, Tanisha Neill founded Nish in June 2022.
