Nordic Knots was founded in Stockholm by siblings Fabian and Felix Berglund together with Liza Berglund Laserow to modernize the rug, a category they felt design had overlooked. Each rug is hand-knotted or hand-woven by skilled artisans and Goodweave certified, ensuring fair and ethical production from thread to knot.
The Leo rug belongs to the sculptural trio born when Parisian artist Garance Vallée reimagined Nordic Knots’ Grand collection, cutting totemic shapes and transformed angles into its classic silhouettes. Hand-woven from New Zealand wool in a 14mm flat weave, Leo can be placed on its own or fitted together with its companion pieces like elements of a puzzle. The result feels less like a rug and more like a sculptural object that happens to live on the floor.
