The Pamela Lamp by Popus Editions draws inspiration from an ancient Asian abacus, which is considered to be one of the world’s oldest calculating machines. The designers’ aim was to create a modern decorative object that pays homage to the art of calculation. Thus, they envisioned a lacquered wooden light fixture with a distinct seventies shape.
After the successful launch of La Fibule and Refuge, two labels dedicated to lifestyle and chalet design, Yannick and Fanny Gicquel moved to London in 2015 and founded Popus Editions. This full immersion into British culture, steeped in colours, careful details, and shimmering patterns, has inspired the design duo a cheerful collection of furniture pieces that screams joie de vivre.
