La Calade is a neighborhood in Marseille. Located in the north of the city, far from the typical Mediterranean postcard image, La Calade is urban, warm, raw, and popular; this is where Axel Chay and his family live. Now, Calade is a furniture collection, designed by Axel Chay. It’s a range built around a bean-shaped sofa, a totem-like bookcase, stools, a low table, and lighting fixtures. Under Axel Chay’s influence, this Marseille neighborhood transforms into a fertile mental space. The designer invites us to enter his area, to stay there, to inhabit it, and to invent our own rules of decoration.
