Sémeur d’Étoiles was founded by Ludovic Clément d’Armont, a Frenchman descended from generations of glassmakers, carpenters and painters, who trained as an engineer before turning that technical precision toward light itself. His fixtures – chandeliers, sconces, table lamps and freestanding light-sculptures – are built from mouth-blown glass, crystal, porcelain and metal, each one hand-modelled so that no two pieces of glass diffuse light in quite the same way. True to his name, which translates as sower of stars, every design reads as a small constellation brought indoors.
A tiered variation on Sémeur d’Étoiles’ flexible necklace lighting, the Collier de Perles Étagées Chandelier stacks its hand-blown glass beads and brushed brass knuckles into layered tiers rather than a single strand, with LEDs still hidden inside each bead. It can be hung by one end or two, or arranged directly onto furniture, giving it the same adaptability as the rest of the Collier family at a fuller scale.
Semeur d’Étoiles was founded by Ludovic Clément d’Armont, a Frenchman whose ancestors were artists and artisans mastering glassmaking, carpentry and painting. Both an engineer and an artist, he pairs his creative emotions with his eclectic, erudite knowledge: “my work is based on a fundamental thought: nature and science are similar; that is why analysis and experimentation mingle in my creations.” Ludovic designs and manufactures lighting fixtures – light-sculptures, chandeliers, sconces, wall & ceiling lamps – each one conceived as work of art in itself. He combines subtle French elegance with 21st century lifestyle: Blown glass, crystal, porcelain and metal are treated with new creative techniques lending each unique piece a strong architectural quality. The technical complexity of the designs never outweighs their aesthetic, so that only the beautiful materials and the light become visible. Each design is eco-friendly.
