Stephen Antonson doesn’t design in plaster so much as sculpt with it, layering it by hand and carving back into it until the surface holds a soft, chalky light — earning him the nickname “master of plaster” from Architectural Digest and a place in the lineage of Jean-Michel Frank and Giacometti.

The Shell table lamp is cast in plaster, its shells shaped entirely by hand so that each lamp varies slightly in size and placement.
