Background
Isato Prugger (b.1992) grew up with Ladin and Japanese cultural backgrounds. After graduating in Industrial Design at Politecnico of Milan in 2014, he gained international experience by working in Milan, Stockholm, Tokyo and Dongguan (China). At Salone del Mobile – Euroluce 2019, he presented the innovative portable lamp FLAI in collaboration with Diomede Light, and was dubbed as one of the youngest designers exhibiting at the fair. Since 2019, Isato is part of Nèo Design Italiano, a creative group of young professionals operating in the new Italian design landscape. Isato currently works as an independent creative in Milan.
Signature style
Isato Prugger combines his industrial training with his sculptural sensibility, creating limited series of lighting fixtures that explore and push the boundaries of the contemporary artisanship and all its potentiality. The incessant research on innovative technologies, aimed at designing better light quality, makes these pieces true “functional sculptures”.
