Sabourin Costes is a design studio founded in 2019 by Zoë Costes and Paola Sabourin. From their Parisian workshop, the duo crafts surprise and intrigue. By combining a meticulous exploration of materials and their applications with formal and functional research, they create singular objects that captivate the eye. Their preferred materials are simple yet refined: lacquered wood, polished stainless steel, or transparent resin. Through these materials, they play with reflection and distortion, crafting strong-lined pieces that inspire unexpected and contemplative moments.
Invisible Collection and Mobilier National partner to promote contemporary creation and present limited-edition designs. Mobilier National, a major institution for contemporary creation and the promotion of French decorative arts, has been dedicated since the seventeenth century to preserving, restoring, and managing unique state-owned collections of furniture, tapestries, and decorative objects. In recent years, Mobilier National has broadened its scope by launching an annual “Campagne d’Acquisition” to support creativity and integrate contemporary designs into the national collections. These works are then exhibited in prestigious institutional buildings.
Thanks to this unprecedented partnership, a curated selection of contemporary furniture from Mobilier National’s latest Campagne d’Acquisition is now available in a limited edition.
Resin is a versatile material, shifting from liquid to solid and manipulated through precise, meticulous processes. The Boudins collection, which includes the eponymous coffee table, pushes the boundaries of these techniques to create objects with fluid, dynamic lines. The Boudins coffee table features three massive resin cylinders that rise in straight lines before softening and organically unfurling to form the base supporting the glass tabletop. The shared transparency and brilliance of glass and resin combine to create a light yet powerful piece with striking visual impact.
