Stories Showrooms New at Invisible Collection Paris Rive Gauche

For Paris Design Week, we present a captivating collaboration between Louise Liljencrantz and Lison de Caunes, alongside a selection of signature pieces by Courtney Applebaum. The spotlight is on female talent!

In celebration of Paris Design Week, we are thrilled to unveil “Three Women,” an exhibition featuring pieces from design stars brought together for the first time, revealing the invisible connections that unite them. The exhibit showcases a fresh collaboration between straw marquetry specialist Lison de Caunes and Swedish designer Louise Liljencrantz, complemented by a selection of designs by Los Angeles-based interior designer Courtney Applebaum. This must-see exhibition is open to the public throughout September, and we look forward to your visit. In the meantime, here are some highlights from the show:

Lison de Caunes x Louise Liljencrantz: The grande dame of straw marquetry and the Nordic star of Swedish design were destined to meet and create something special. Indeed, we made it happen, and we are delighted to introduce a unique collaboration—a limited-edition collection of coffee tables. Lison and Louise reimagined three iterations of the Cloud Coffee Table, one of Louise’s signature designs, and adorned them with intricate layers of straw marquetry. For the Mini Cloud Side Table, Lison de Caunes imagined two contrasting variations, namely Wheat and Black Mahogany, achieving the perfect balance between the wood’s satin, high-gloss finishes and the straw marquetry’s various shades. The former features warm hues of yellow, evoking the colors of a wheat field, while the latter is adorned with mesmerising shades of black, conjuring depth and contrast.

The third design is The Sky Chunky Cloud Table, a striking piece with fascinating proportions. The legs, crafted from beech with a high-gloss finish, are uniquely shaped, creating the appearance of placid, almost heart-shaped pools on the tabletop, adorned with a special type of straw that evokes the sky and sun reflections. The stunning straw marquetry work changes and evolves according to the light and viewing angle, constantly revealing new enticing details that add a magical touch to any interior.
California Cool: The new display at Invisible Collection Rive Gauche showcases another gem, never before seen in Paris. We are thrilled to introduce a selection of iconic designs by Courtney Applebaum, including her signature Seeded Sand-Casted Glass Table. Courtney needs no introduction; the Los Angeles-based interior designer is widely acclaimed for her bold eclecticism and vintage-first approach.

Much praised for her projects, including The Row’s first retail store in LA, Applebaum has become a go-to designer for celebrities seeking dynamic, ultra-cool designs. The Seeded Sand-Casted Glass Table is made of molten glass that is poured into molds to create its form. Once fired, the glass exhibits a lightly textured surface that refracts light, revealing tones of pale turquoise. Since its creation, this striking design has become a coveted must-have in contemporary living rooms with a cool edge. “I’ve always been inspired by Earth’s natural beauty and more classical design forms,” says Applebaum about her designs. “In this collection, I have tried to synthesise the two, using three primary elements—terracotta, or ‘baked earth,’ glass, and plant fibers—to create enduring new designs.” Alongside the table, we present a lovely set of lighting fixtures: the Terracotta Lamp and the Terracotta Sconce, which embody the designer’s passions and approach. Ultimately, “Three Women” is a celebration of passion and talent, a shared understanding of craft, relevance, and a singular aesthetic idea that defines Invisible Collection‘s ethos.
