The dynamic duo, known for their rigorous, elegant projects, joins The Invisible Collection
Parisian flair meets French craftsmanship: in less than ten years Studioparisien has become a reference in the world of design. Founded by Laurene B. Tardrew et Romain Jourdan, the agency is known for delivering original projects, including luxury boutiques for Cartier, Hermès, and Karl Lagerfeld.
Working closely with highly skilled French artisans, their work taps into an understated aesthetic of sophisticated simplicity, enhanced by the potential of new materials. Their passion for design is best expressed in a series of wonderful pieces that are as alluring as they are exceptionally well crafted.
Simple, elegant lines, sculptural shapes, and fascinating materials: each design tells a story of passion and creativity. We asked Laurene and Romain a couple of questions, and the ebullient designers answered with one voice:
What drew you to interior architecture and design and what do you like the most about it?
The opportunity to constantly write new stories, and invent new materials imbued with meaning and identity. Each project is a means to establish original and constructive dialogues, whilst being always ready for the unexpected.
Can you describe your work and style in a few words?
Our aim is to interpret the spirit of our clients into truly bespoke architectural projects. We offer them harmonious contrasts by pairing different periods and finding the right balance that embodies the clients’ vision. We always stay true to their desires.
The piece of furniture you most like to design?
Seats with stretched curves, in which one enjoys curling up: Comfort is essential. We like to design sculptural lights too; we favour indirect lighting, in order to create warm, friendly halos that highlight the lamp’s elegant lines.
The most useful piece of design related advice you’ve received and would like to pass on?
Light is the ultimate tool for sculpting volumes.
