It’s that time of the year when New York City takes center stage with a full program of events tailored for the art & design cognoscenti, including The Salon, the unmissable fair held at Park Avenue Armory. The Townhouse, The Invisible Collection’s flagship on the Upper East Side, will be open to greet collectors and friends and present them with a curated display of new designs and specially selected artworks.
Cementing its longstanding collaboration with Sotheby’s and celebrating a week of exceptional Modern and Contemporary auctions, The Invisible Collection takes over once more Sotheby’s Preferred Room to introduce the outstanding work of celebrated AD100 Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance. The limited-edition furniture pieces – on show for the first time in the United States – are set in dialogue with some of the iconic artworks that will be auctioned in the coming days.
The beautifully appointed space features a selection of designs originally intended for a private commission, made available for the first time exclusively through The Invisible Collection. Designed over a five-year period, between 2017 and 2022, the limited-edition pieces epitomize Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance’s close work with exceptional artisans and valorisation of noble materials. These outstanding designs follow an instinctive and sensitive vocabulary, playing with fluid forms and sharp lines that call up organic landscapes.
Highlights include the gorgeous Whisper Sofa – a poetic evocation of undulating landscapes covered in snow – and the stunning Soft Rock Coffee Table – conjuring the contrasting feel of soft stone. Exhibited in the Sotheby’s preferred room for private viewing, the limited-edition furniture pieces and lighting fixtures are available for purchase exclusively through The Invisible Collection.
