Recognized on the AD100 list of the world’s most influential architects and designers, Simon builds her collections around a signature material palette: brushed solid oak, natural stone such as travertine, patinated metal and textured fabric, alongside artisanal techniques like raku ceramic and chamotte plaster. The result is furniture and lighting that reads as quietly sculptural, deeply tactile, and unmistakably her own.

The Nativ Bench designed by Emmanuelle Simon is not just extra seating. It is the compact expression of the Nativ collection’s architectural minimalism, a solid wood surround framing an upholstered seat so the bench can anchor an entryway, a bedroom or the foot of a bed with quiet purpose. Simon designs it as a piece that structures a space as much as it furnishes it.

Crafted in brushed solid oak with an upholstered cushion shown here in Bouclette 03, the bench brings together the raw grain of hand-brushed wood and the soft looped texture of the fabric. Every wood frame is shaped and finished by hand, so the grain and brushing carry the subtle, unrepeatable marks of the artisan’s gesture across each piece produced.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
