Fleur Delesalle spent six formative years inside India Mahdavi’s studio, absorbing a taste for bold colour and unapologetic form, before launching her own studio with a language that is minimalist without ever being cold, defined by gentle curves and a cheerful palette. True to her name, which means flower in French, nearly every piece she designs is named after one – Peony, Marigold, Daylily, Hollyhock, Poppy – as if her furniture were a garden rendered in wood, marble and lacquer.
Part of the Pebbles series, the Pebbles 2 Rug sets soft, organic pebble-like shapes against bold black outlines, hand-knotted, woven and tufted in wool and botanical silk by artisans working in ancestral techniques. Its graphic contrast of colour and black line gives the rug a distinct identity within Fleur Delesalle’s softer, more painterly Feathers designs.
Fleur Delesalle founded her eponymous studio in 2011, in Paris. With luxury residential projects throughout Europe, and her vibrant displays at Paris Design Week, Fleur is regarded as one of the most talented designers of her generation.
