After six years inside India Mahdavi’s Paris studio, Fleur Delesalle set out on her own with a design language that keeps Mahdavi’s love of colour but pares the forms down to something quieter and more rounded. She gives nearly every collection a flower’s name – Poppy, Peony, Daffodils, Water Lily – and treats each piece as a study in gentle curves, generous proportions and materials, from onyx to travertine, that are left to speak for themselves.
The third in Fleur Delesalle’s Pebbles series, the Pebbles 3 Rug pairs its own arrangement of organic pebble shapes with bold black lines, hand-knotted, woven and tufted in wool and botanical silk. Its handmade construction means that, like each rug in the series, its exact colour intensity varies subtly from piece to piece.
Fleur Delesalle founded her eponymous studio in 2011, in Paris. With luxury residential projects throughout Europe, and her vibrant displays at Paris Design Week, Fleur is regarded as one of the most talented designers of her generation.
