Tempio is a collection of five monoliths, walking the fine line between furniture and sculpture, imbued with the memories of the designer’s first “architectural emotions”. From Casa Malaparte, to the monumental marble quarries of Stazzema to Michelangelo’s otherworldly Pietà in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Tempio pays tribute to these major influences. The pieces are defined by a brutalist almost purist style, through which light, movement and matter interact. A silent, absolute and timeless design, conceived as a form of manifesto about the designer’s formalist intention. Tempio is an ode to the textures and visual quality of the mineral world expressed through either white onyx or grand antique marble. Each piece from the collection is available in a limited edition of twelve pieces signed and numbered.
