Part of the Curved Armchair, this piece reflects Courtney Applebaum’s vintage-first philosophy, a belief that furniture should arrive with a sense of patina and history rather than showroom polish. The Los Angeles designer treats each object as a small act of world-building, layering material and form the way she layers eras across the rooms she designs for her private clients.
Companion to the Curved Sofa, the Curved Armchair distills the same modernist restraint into a single seat, upholstered in Loro Piana’s discontinued Alchemy cotton velvet in almond, with Kashgar fabric or Dedar’s Adorabile Alpaca offered as alternatives. Its stained mahogany feet mirror the geometric forms found throughout Applebaum’s Collection II, giving even this smaller-scaled piece the same grounded, sculptural stance.
Los Angeles-based Interior Designer Courtney Applebaum was initially drawn to architecture and interior design as she saw these worlds as arenas for self-expression and beauty.
