The Tiered Nightstand belongs to a body of work shaped by the Los Angeles designer’s restless eye for the overlooked. Courtney Applebaum has built a practice on curated eclecticism, mixing eras and unexpected materials into interiors that feel both collected and inevitable, a sensibility honed over years spent combing the flea markets of Paris and Mexico City for pieces with a story already written into their surface.
The Tiered Nightstand extends the art deco language of Collection II into a lacquered mahogany case available in black or cream, its slick surface the result of countless hand-applied and cured layers of lacquer. A lockable drawer fitted with aged brass hardware and a silk key tassel gives the nightstand a sense of ceremony, transforming a bedside utility into a small object of daily ritual.
Los Angeles-based Interior Designer Courtney Applebaum was initially drawn to architecture and interior design as she saw these worlds as arenas for self-expression and beauty. Established in 2011, her studio is dedicated to creating spaces that brim with purpose and individuality through a mix of design periods, furniture styles and unexpected materials. Curated eclecticism that naturally evokes a minimalist mood is the hallmark of each project.
