The Oval Armchair by Leo Sentou takes its inspiration from an elegant oval bergère by Parisian master menuisier Louis Delanois (1731 – 1792). Made entirely by hand in Europe by a team of skilled artisans, the seat is upholstered in mohair, and rests on a set of four gauged bronze feet. The original medallion and arm bolsters found in classical Louis XVI furniture, have been simplified as part of the armchairs plush upholstery, thus becoming a sculptural contemporary echo of what, over the past two centuries, has come to define the iconic French style.
Trained at the ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres School in Paris before moving to London to take a master’s degree at Central Saint Martins, Leo Sentou works on high end residential and hospitality projects honing his skills and sense for detail, whilst growing a strong passion for beautiful finishes. In 2021, Leo launched his first furniture line that encapsulates his love for noble materials and exceptional craftmanship.
