Garrafon Verde brings together two of Brazil’s most celebrated design storytellers, Fernando and Humberto Campana, self-taught brothers who have built a career transforming humble, overlooked materials into pieces now held in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Centre Pompidou, and the French upcycling atelier Les MétamorFoses.

For this limited edition of just five pieces, a discarded plastic jerrican is reborn as a vase, wrapped by hand in a macrame of green and brown scraps of natural coconut fiber. The collaboration distills the Campanas’ lifelong fascination with Brazilian favela ingenuity and Les MétamorFoses’s craft of reclamation into a single object, proof that the most striking design can grow directly out of what was meant to be thrown away.
