Her forms draw on nature at its most delicate — leaves, algae, unfurling fronds — cast permanently in solid bronze with a natural or black patina finish. That vocabulary has drawn collaborations with Bottega Veneta, Dior Maison and Diptyque, and every piece still carries the faint asymmetries of hand-sculpted wax, a signature of a technique that cannot be mechanically repeated.
The Melted Bronze Candle Holder N°3 designed by Osanna Visconti continues the series’ fascination with bronze caught mid-transformation, its folds slightly more pronounced than its siblings, as though captured a few seconds later in the same liquid motion. She approaches this recurring theme the way a sculptor returns to a single gesture, refining its intensity each time.
Produced with the lost-wax technique in natural bronze or natural bronze with black patina, the N°3 candle holder is hand-sculpted in wax before casting, so its rippled surface exists only once, destroyed and remade each time a new wax model is carved. Bespoke dimensions are available upon request.
During her childhood in Rome, Osanna and her sister would play with pieces of art created for their mother by Lucio Fontana, Mario Ceroli and Arnaldo Pomodoro. One could say that the pieces she creates today, are inspired by those wonderful memories, or maybe, they are a result of her own femininity… or maybe both. “I made jewellery for a few years, but then I decided to make jewels for the home, with the same technique but on a larger scale”. In recent years, Osanna’s attention has increasingly focused on objects and furnishings. Made by the best artisans, every creation is modelled by hand from wax, which is then fused in an art foundry. “I would define myself as an artisan because I love crafting things, and I would also define myself as being somewhat of a designer. I really like being in the foundry where the wax models are made, spending my days modelling with my hands.”
