Philidendron Wall Lamp draws its form directly from the broad, veined leaf of the houseplant it is named for, rendered at the scale of a small sculpture and cast in bronze that carries the faint variation of hand-worked wax. It belongs to a family of botanical sconces, alongside Alocasia, Aralia and Sterlizia, in which Osanna Visconti translates leaf structures into light fixtures without flattening them into ornament. Visconti trained first as a jeweller before turning her attention to the home, and her method has not changed with scale: she still spends her days at the foundry, modelling directly in wax rather than drawing, so the final surface retains the trace of her hand. Mounted low or in a cluster, it suits a hallway, staircase or bedroom wall where its sculptural profile can be read in relief against the light. Each piece is one of a kind.
