The Pouly I Side Table embodies the world of Sarah Chirazi, an interior architect and curator known for weaving unexpected dialogues between 1940s French classicism and Senegalese craftsmanship, with an eclectic eye that lingers on every detail, from a door handle to the curve of a sofa leg.
Cast in natural black bronze and issued in a limited edition of twelve pieces plus two artist’s proofs, the Pouly I side table preserves every groove and scar of the antique wooden well pulley it was molded from. You can still trace the rope-worn channel where generations of hands once drew water, now frozen in metal and set at the height of a lamp or a glass, a small monument to a forgotten daily gesture.
An advocate of eclecticism, Sarah moves effortlessly from a Haussmannian apartment to a clay mountain retreat in Morocco, adding her whimsical touch while ensuring respect for the spirit of the place. In her interiors, conceived as multi-act scenographies, she weaves unexpected dialogues between the 1940s and Senegalese craftsmanship, the extravagance of her personality, and the timelessness of French classicism.
