Droulers Architecture

Droulers Architecture was founded in 2007 by sisters Nathalie and Virginie Droulers, with the ambition of creating an international studio dedicated to residential, commercial, and leisure projects. Today, the practice also specializes in architecture and interior design for luxury yachts. Droulers Architecture collaborates with a team of highly skilled professionals, working in close dialogue with artisans, suppliers, and specialists. Their approach is deeply rooted in Italian craftsmanship, showcasing exceptional know-how, experimentation with both traditional and innovative materials, and a relentless pursuit of perfection, in which the uniqueness of the human gesture remains central. Regarded as a fresh and personal re-imagination of Mongiardino’s legacy, the Droulers style is defined by a refined use of materials and details that lend spaces a timeless quality. Their projects are resolutely contemporary, even as they reinterpret forms and lines shaped by the past. Nathalie and Virginie pay particular attention to space and light, always seeking a perfect balance between elements and the client’s needs; because, as they often say, a project should be like a suit, cut to fit. “Our style is a union between past and present,” they explain.

Background

Both born in Milan in 1973, Virginie graduated in Graphic Design from the Parsons School of Design in New York, while Nathalie graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. Virginie began her career in New York in graphic and publishing design before founding Kv Design in Italy, working with clients including Fabriano and Villa d’Este. Nathalie, trained as an architect in Milan, developed projects across New York and Italy before establishing her own studio in 2005, with international commissions spanning hospitality, retail, and private residences.

Signature Style

Regarded as a fresh and personal re-imagination of Mongiardino’s legacy, the Droulers style is defined by a refined use of materials and details that lend spaces a timeless quality. Their projects are resolutely contemporary, even as they reinterpret forms and lines shaped by the past. Nathalie and Virginie pay particular attention to space and light, always seeking a perfect balance between elements and the client’s needs; because, as they often say, a project should be like a suit, cut to fit. “Our style is a union between past and present,” they explain. “We grew up with the rationalist architecture of Como, the classicism of Villa d’Este, and the legacy of great Milanese masters such as Gio Ponti and Piero Portaluppi. We love mixing cultures, combining décoration à la française with a curious eye towards the East, experimenting and daring whenever possible. Our aesthetic is always evolving, yet we aim to create timeless spaces in perfect equilibrium between classic and contemporary.” Their collaboration is a true dialogue: Nathalie defines spaces and volumes, while Virginie refines details, finishes, and ornamentation. This complementary vision results in interiors that are both rigorously composed and richly expressive.

Showstoppers

Across private residences, hospitality projects, and superyachts, Droulers Architecture creates interiors that leave a lasting impression through their sense of narrative and craftsmanship. Their most striking projects are distinguished by a masterful layering of textures, bespoke furnishings, and carefully curated collections where each element contributes to an atmosphere that feels both intimate and monumental. From grand European villas to contemporary urban residences and yachts navigating the Mediterranean, their work reveals a singular ability to orchestrate space as a lived experience, where history, culture, and imagination converge in spaces that are as memorable as they are timeless.
