Stories Exhibitions Visit Us in New York

Our Townhouse on the Upper East Side is brimming with new designs just in from the best French and European ateliers. Read on and discover what we have in store for you.

American collectors and design connoisseurs have long admired the excellence of French savoir-faire, deeply rooted in the heritage of Arts Décoratifs. This affinity can be traced back to the gilded age and then later, in the early 1930s, when our interior design hero Jean-Michel Frank, after having left his indelible mark on memorable Parisian interiors, traveled to the US leading a team of artists and artisans to refurbish Rockefeller’s apartment in Manhattan. In that same spirit, our New York gallery is home to a new generation of talents who carry forward the legacy of past French masters with their unique and distinct aesthetics. Over the past year, AD100 honorees such as Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, Garcé & Dimofski, andLaura Gonzalez, to name but a few, have been invited to showcase their most significant works, displayed in a curated setting, and available exclusively through us.

The new exhibition now on show is a display of the vitality and variety of the contemporary design we champion. Handmade by the best artisans, these pieces, each with its distinct character, are unified by their French heritage. So, what’s new in New York? Visitors will be thrilled to discover that one of the main rooms is now called “Lesage”, as it features a set of bespoke window panels hand-embroidered by the skilled seamstresses at Lesage Intérieurs. A household name in the world of couture, the specialty creator, part of Chanel’s Métiers d’art housed at le19M, has brought its unparalleled know-how to interior decoration delivering bespoke creations that look and feel like haute couture. In the salon the elegant Yumi Sofa by Phlippe Hurel, flanked by Hamrei’s Stilt Stool, sits opposite the fascinating Galho Chair by Juliana Lima Vasconcellos. In the dining room, Francesco Balzano’s Swan Table is set with the lovely Fin Chairs by Giancarlo Valle. In an adjacent space, serene minimalism reigns supreme: just one stunning sofa – Umbo, an eye-catching piece defined by its uncommon proportions and exquisite details – paired with a jewel-like side table – Mirra, featuring a solid glass top cast in Murano – both designed by Hamrei.

Even the most hidden corner of our three-story gallery is graced with one-of-a-kind pieces to collect and cherish, alongside artworksobjects and exclusive creations from Chanel’s Métiers d’art specially designed for our New York gallery, including a spectacular chandelier by Harumi Klossowska de Rola x Goossens that hangs imperious over the main hall. On the lower floor, our library, housing the 7L book curation services, has been appointed with the Hug Sofa by Fleur Delesalle and the Chunky Cloud Coffee Table by Louise Liljencrantz. Between the rows of custom bookshelves lined with titles from Karl Lagerfeld’s reading list, hangs the Hestia Mirror by Allegra Hicks, a true wonder of knitted bronze – literally.  You can enjoy browsing the full New York Edit here, but we would love to see you in our gallery on the Upper East Side and experience in person the (design) soul of the place. Invisible Collection’s home in NY will serve as a home away from home for all design enthusiasts. Do come and visit us.
