Women Designers We Love

Stories Editor's Pick Women Designers We Love

Celebrating the inspiring female talents who are shaping the future of design.

From the pioneering work of Charlotte Perriand and Eileen Gray to the contemporary aesthetic of Kelly Behun and Charlotte Biltgen, the delightful maximalism of Laura Gonzalez, and the subtle play on textures of Sophie Dries, women are redefining style and leaving an enduring mark on the history of design.

We will never cease reiterating that talent knows no gender, but we are extremely proud to showcase so many gifted women that are making waves and rightfully claiming their place in an industry that has historically been dominated by men.

It’s more than just bridging the gender gap and bringing a diverse point of view. We need to break down stereotypes. Most people don’t know that when Charlotte Perriand walked into Le Corbusier studio, looking for a job, she was welcomed with a condescending “Mademoiselle, we don’t do needlepoint here!”

Perriand was almost dismissed not because she lacked talent, but simply because she was a woman, hence unworthy of ever being admitted to the “boy’s club” of architects and designers. We are so lucky that she stood up and did not let anyone write her story. She is a role model whose legacy is still celebrated today.
We need these role models. As a female-led brand, Invisible Collection is constantly seeking out new female designers who bring a diverse perspective while also paying homage to the remarkable women who have paved the way: we are so proud that some of the most talented, contemporary women designers belong with Invisible Collection.
