Designed by André Groult, the Art Deco ensemblier known for pioneering shagreen in French cabinetmaking, the La Main table lamp is cast entirely in plaster.

It is re-edited today by his granddaughter Lison de Caunes, who as a child restored a straw-marquetry screen her grandfather made for the 1937 Exposition and never stopped: she founded her own atelier in 1978, was named a Maître d’Art in 1998, and now counts Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Peter Marino among her clients — one of the last people alive who can still work straw the way Groult’s generation did.
