Husband and wife duo Nils and Eva Koppel are best known as architects for their modernist buildings in 1950s and beyond. Early in their career however they designed some exceptional yet largely obscure furniture in the 1940s and early 1950s. The pinnacle of their brief foray into furniture design was this striking chair. Originally known simply as Model 190 and produced by Slagelse Møbelværk, this is one of the earliest examples of design elements such as the distinctive blade arms and organic curves. The Medallion chair is a beautiful addition to a modern interior.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
