Olivier Garcé and Clio Dimofski opened Garcé & Dimofski’s studio and gallery in a 19th-century Pombaline building in Lisbon. They bring a rigorous, architectural eye to furniture that never strays far from the earth it comes from — chestnut, walnut, pine and clay, shaped by hand with Portuguese craftsmen who have spent lifetimes mastering their materials.
The Mimi bench is upholstered here in Dedar’s Fifty Fifty fabric in a warm corda, resting on ceramic legs brushed in beige, though it has also been shown in Dedar’s natural Caolino with legs glazed in a moody Dark Moon finish, over a pine structure. The wood, fabric and dimensions can all be adjusted, so the bench can run the length of a table or stand alone at the foot of a bed.
