The Ultralux table lamp from Goossens is a sculptural, architectural statement that reflects the Maison’s refined craftsmanship. Stacked panels of rock crystal, each revealing its own veils and frozen depths, are held within a hand-worked silver frame whose textured, organic finishes contrast with the structure’s clean, rectilinear lines. The cool sheen of the silver heightens the crystal’s icy clarity for a presence both imposing and refined.
When lit, Ultralux diffuses a soft, soothing glow that filters through the crystal like moonlight, evoking the intimate atmosphere of a dinner beneath the stars. More than a source of illumination, it elevates any interior with serene elegance and a sense of quiet wonder.
Following their meeting in 1953, Gabrielle Chanel encouraged Robert Goossens to create his first decorative objects: a trio of gilded bronze lions supporting a rock crystal globe, followed by a water lily pedestal table and a table with a wheat sheaf base. These are now among Goossens’ most iconic creations. By entering the world of decorative arts, Goossens Paris demonstrated his ability to move from the scale of jewellery to that of furniture and art objects, using the same signature materials (gold-plated metal and rock crystals) and the same tools and techniques.
