Jennifer Shorto

Pair of Simoun Pink Cushions

Add to Wishlist

Cushion covers from Jennifer Shorto’s Nigerian collection carry the imprint of her research-driven approach to textiles. Trained in History of Art at L’Ecole du Louvre before turning collector and dealer in antique fabrics, Shorto works from original archival pieces, translating their patterning and colour logic into new cloth rather than simply reproducing them. The Simoun design is woven in thick, substantial linen, a weight chosen to hold pattern crisply and give the cushion structure rather than softness alone. The back is left unprinted and left plain, a quiet detail that lets the front’s motif stand without competition. Suited to layering across a sofa or daybed where pattern needs to read at a distance, it works equally as a single accent or repeated in multiples for rhythm. Available across four sizes and multiple colourways, each pair is made to order in the United Kingdom.
